Rabbit litters usually consist of anywhere from three to eight youngsters. The new born rabbits are blind, deaf and un- furred for the most part. They don't even move much until they're 10 days old. On the 11th day the eyes open. But incredibly enough, a few days after this the rabbits are able to run and even go outside the nest for a short trip.
At about two weeks they start eat solid food and when they're a month old they are basically on their own. Up until that time Mom will defend her babies with her strong hind feet. In 3 months, the rabbits are mature and can start their own families.
It sounds like a science fiction story. Can you imagine your baby going from newborn to raising a family in 3 months? I
guess bunnies are used to life in the fast lane. Some rabbits in Great Britain and presumably in other places as well live and nest on the surface. There are various theories as to why this would be so, but if I were a rabbit I wouldn't want to live underground. Just the thought makes me claustrophobic!
Well, here is certainly a piece of small pet jewelry you can wear for fun anytime.
