It was a bit hard to capture the beauty of this piece in the photograph. In the real dachshund earring there is a sharp, lovely contrast of black and reddish brown. The light plays off the surface of the earrings (in real life) in a way that makes the colors come alive. I love working with black, because everything you use in its vicinity has an additional vibrancy that's hard to reproduce in any other way. The copper colored details of the feet and the area around the face seem to have their own source of light.
This is an elegant little pair of earrings that I imagine you'll get quite a bit of use out of. Or if you intend them as a gift, I think these earrings could become a big favorite for a dachshund lover.
The other nice thing about these earrings and all of my painted epoxy enamel designs is that they have a very nice tactile aspect to them. In other words, they just feel good to the touch. They are smooth and satiny, kind of like a polished gemstone.
Whether or not you own one of these charming little dogs, my pair of enamel black and tan dachshund earrings would be fun to wear!
