Enamel Calico Cat Pin
Some think the calico, the short hair at any rate, came from Spain. It is one of the first known breeds of cat.
The calico is a hard one to breed successfully, since it is almost always a female. It seems a black or white male makes the best "dad', at least as far as the markings go. I would imagine that like most other cat dads, he is rather "deadbeat,' not one to help support the kids or help with the housework.
Calico cats are mostly white on the underparts, with black and lovely golden red patches of color. It's said that the general appearance of the cat and the coat should conform to that of the appropriate type. (Persian or short haired) These are such beautiful kitties! They seem to know it, too.
Since I don't currently have a cat in the family, I sometimes fantasize about what breed I'd like to share my home with. Calico cats are certainly up there at the top as far as looks go! I think the long haired calicos are especially luxurious looking, but I'd never be able to keep up with the combing required.
I do believe this enamel calico cat pin would be a lovely addition to an autumn wardrobe.
And wouldn't it be beautiful on a wooly black winter coat? I could think of all kinds of places to wear this pretty cat pin.
