Inexpensive Jewelry Can Be Beautiful
When I first had my jewelry cast in pewter, the happy playing kitty pin became an instant hit. With the matching earrings or the little cat necklace you can create a wonderful set at a very reasonable price. There’s nothing wrong with saving your pennies and purchasing presents for people that can stretch your hard-earned cash. Am I a penny pincher at heart? Only when I need to be, but there’s certainly no shame in it.
During the most recent holiday season I saw my less costly pieces become extremely popular as presents. I’m just as proud of them as my more expensive charms and pendants, and when I create them, I put in just as much time. It makes me happy to have products that everyone can afford.
If you’re looking for something for a special man in your life, I have just the thing! I’ve recently come up with a line of pewter key chains, like this handsome paw print key ring. Another of my favorites is the monkey key chain. Maybe your favorite male would need to have a quirky sense of humor for this one, but it’s a fun piece nonetheless. I think good looking key chains are always in style; they can be used for a special set of keys, or for that everyday bunch he keeps tucked away in his pocket.
One of the cutest animals in the world, in my way of thinking is the guinea pig. I suppose that’s why I have so many versions of this little guy, like these winsome guinea pig earrings in white enamel. Who can resist that silly little face? Whenever I exhibit my jewelry, everything in the guinea pig line gets more “oohs and ahhs” than anything else I make. People who don’t even have them as pets end up buying my pendants and earrings. It kind of makes me wonder if I’ve influenced any potential guinea pig owners to take the plunge and get one for a pet!
I love these multi-hued calico cat earrings, and think they’re one of the brightest and most fun of my enamel line. Every one of them has their own character since they’re all hand painted. I’ve always loved that about hand crafted jewelry. This applies to all my colorful pieces, but on some, like the calico cat line, you can really see it.
So you see- you don’t have to spend a lot of money to find a gift that speaks right to your animal loving kin and friends. As a matter of fact, I believe everyone should live within their means, and I’m more than happy to be creating new designs that can be given with pride, because they are still carefully crafted.
If you’ve never purchased pewter or enamel jewelry, don’t be afraid to open up your options. They are long lasting pieces, and can be worn without feeling “cheap.”
