At this exact moment in time, I have but two sterling silver horse post earrings. Perhaps later there will be more. More likely than not this will be true eventually.
Making these original horse head post earrings was one of those biggish challenges. Perhaps my hands are more agile now and I should create some new ones more easily. It’s quite interesting how after two or three or five years one’s artistic “chops” improve and a new version of something created in the past can be truly a delight! But my dilemma remains the old one of so many animals and so little time to create them all.
I’m amused by a comment I hear at some of the trade shows where I exhibit my work. It goes something like this “Why you’ve got every animal there is!” My snappy internal retort is that it would be a poor planet ecologically speaking if my little representation of animals were all that there was! Why there’s not a songbird, a fish nor a spider among my designs! (Nor is there one of probably thousands of different species on the planet.) I realize the comment is made as a complement, but to this old animal lover, it just doesn’t fit.
So the fact that I have two sterling silver horse post earrings is abundance, compared to NO songbirds, NO warthogs, etc.! |
