Description: Cats are a part of our lives, whether we actually have one sharing our home and hearth or just as passing acquaintances on a morning walk. We see them in advertisements, on note cards and occasionally, to our dismay, we hear them at night when they court or fight.  My website wouldn't be complete without my silver post earring cat designs page. Cats really came into their own during the Victorian Era when they were beloved by the Queen and popularized by Lewis Carol’s Alice in Wonderland. Suddenly cat pictures, postcards and calendars were everywhere. Sometimes my husband and I come across these relics of a bygone day when we explore antique shops on our travels. They are terribly sentimental but refreshing when compared to life in the 21st century. There are some truly wild cats (not feral) that look so much like the domesticated kitty. One is known as the Scottish wild cat, which looks physically like a large tabby cat. It was once common, but much rarer today. It lives in the highlands of Scotland. They can interbreed with domestic cats, but they themselves can’t be domesticated. I would love to see one of these amazing creatures, so close to our own kitty’s nature but completely intractable itself. Yes, cats are amazing creatures.
