I’d be so happy wearing a sterling silver small pet pin, were that my favorite little furry friend! I tried to cover most of the popular small pets in my jewelry designing and you can find other critters on my silver pins page. Last week my husband and I on our morning walk discovered a very brave wild brown cottontail sniffing around in the front yard of a fancy condo near Clearwater bay. I don’t know if he was brave, deaf or just missing a few survival skills, but he was completely undisturbed by our interest. Could it be that it’s been a few years since rabbits were shot on sight in the town of Clearwater and the current generation just doesn’t bother to hide? I think rabbits are really great survivors mostly by virtue of their procreative ability. And I don’t imagine they have many natural enemies in the Bay Area. For other (bigger) wildlife designs, visit my sterling wildlife pins page. Sometimes I forget to realize that someone might wear a sterling silver small pet pin just because they admire the design itself! I think it’s easy to make assumptions about the interests of the wearer. One of my favorite designs is the bunny pin pendant, and I love wearing it despite the absence of rabbits in my life. |
