Description: I believe that corgis are one of those breeds that definitely need a “job” and they only become infamous for their stubbornness when they’re denied this “right”. Kind of like a child!
Welsh corgis, of course, come in two varieties- the Cardigan and the Pembroke. My pin was designed with the Pembroke in mind, while my earrings, pendant and charm (since they depict only the face) could pass for either one.
The lineage of this little dog goes back a ways, as far back as the 1100s (AD of course). It was developed into more of its present day form in Pembrokeshire, Wales. That, of course, is where its name came from.
A couple, male and female, are called a brace and that is the ideal way the corgis should be kept, according to one source of information. Now I have a question. Wouldn’t keeping a brace of corgis result in some little “bracelets” unless you were careful? That little hitch in thinking doesn’t seem to be mentioned anywhere, at least not by the same author.
Corgi puppies are born usually about 6 to a litter and they take as long as 15 months to fully mature. Isn’t that an awfully long time?
Regardless, I’m pretty happy with this sterling silver corgi pin and I hope you have a need for one, yourself! Another great idea is my doxie pin in silver or really any of my silver dog pin gifts. Have fun exploring.
