My lovely daughter-in-law Diana wears my favorite sterling silver marine pin pendant on the home page photograph. I love dolphins, and although there is a plethora of dolphin jewelry in the world already, I felt I wanted to honor this beautiful animal in my own way! There are so many incredible marine animals, from colorful sea snails and anemones to the stately sperm whale. I definitely will be adding more sea animal jewelry to my line when I get back to designing.
Wouldn’t it be marvelous to spend a year on a scientific expedition in the middle of the ocean? Years ago, when I was a child, I dreamed about becoming a zoologist and traveling around the world studying animals. Well, I at least get to put in some time learning about the animals I represent in my jewelry. Marine animals, is a hugely broad category and includes fish, mammals, mollusks and more. I love designing them. For one thing, animals of the ocean are extraordinarily beautiful, their inaccessibility probably contributing to my fascination with them.
Along with the reptile pin pendants in silver and those at sterling pin pendants home, I can’t wait to create more designs in this Magic Zoo category. There is certainly no dearth of inspiration for me. Look for fish and whales coming up sometime in the future.
