I now have three sterling silver horse pin pendants. The first two designs (the western and the English horses) were worked on a couple years ago in Rhode Island when I visited my sister just after she’d had foot surgery. She is the horsewoman in the family and since we had time on our hands we thought we’d put our heads and talents together and see what we could come up with in the equine design department.
The last one I worked on was the Quarter horse pin pendant design, which I will admit took a lot more time and effort and just plain looking. I really like them all for different reasons, but probably have the most fondness for the English horse head. Somehow it reminds me of a large black ceramic horse head that my father created and which was a part of the Hutton household for many years until my father passed away in 1969 and my mom relocated.
My dad was an excellent artist in his own right. Unfortunately, I never knew him as well as I would have liked, and he died when I was only a teenager. But he wrote fiction well and also did nice work in clay and as a painter. His name was Willard Alan Hutton, and much of his life is mystery to his four children.
I digress. At any rate, I have worked up a start at pin pendants of silver marine animals and quite a few more at silver pin pendant home. |
