Description: The first German shepherd I met was around 1956 when I was a small child. He was completely enormous compared to me and definitely made a lasting impression. The breed still reminds me of their beautiful wolf cousin. German shepherds do a lot of shedding. They need to be brushed as often as 3 or 4 times a week! That’s a lot of brushing. Probably a good job for one of the kids. The dog needs a lot of exercise to keep them healthy. Every day they should have a nice long walk, and the ideal situation is they have a large fenced in back yard to run around in as well. Probably because they are so intelligent, the German Shepherd needs to have his mind occupied so he doesn’t get involved in mischief just to have something to do. The early name given this dog was Alsatian Wolf dog. I find this interesting because I certainly think they look more like wolves than any other dog breed does. They have been performing in the show ring since 1922. This is a great piece of dog jewelry, and for the German shepherd lover, is probably the best of my current German shepherd dog jewelry designs.
