Description: I was just reading a bit about cats and how they feel about water as a subject. I’ve know cats that were fascinated by water (my brother Jeff’s fat cat Ben enjoys getting in the shower with him on occasion. The occasion being that Jeff forgets to shut the bathroom door.) Flowing water does seem to capture a cat’s attention. There have even been some occasions of cats that enjoyed a dip in the sea! I just read a story about a cat named Tippy that enjoyed going sailing with her family. Occasionally she’d dive overboard and paddle towards shore when they were on their way home. I think this cat was one of a kind. Most cats just prefer to stay dry and the only time they get wet is when they bathe themselves or are let out accidentally in the rain. Or their owners give them a “lemon bath”. Let me explain. When our cat Molly was bothered by fleas, rather than spray her with a poisonous chemical, I decided to try a natural solution. Citrus is supposed to be antipathetic to fleas, so I deduced that bathing her in a solution of lemon juice and lukewarm water might be just the thing. I placed the howling bundle of stripes and claws in the tub, made sure she was well saturated, then dried her off. I can still see that bedraggled little wet cat, meowing piteously, her pride temporarily shattered. The kids tried not to laugh but she did look like the cartoon “cat that got dragged in from the storm.” The good part was that the fleas were disgusted and moved on, at least temporarily. Anyway, you can also visit a slimmer cat silver pin pendant and watch my silver cat pin pendant home page for new developments. |
