Description: This was one of the first designs I created to be cast as sterling silver jewelry, and I really splurged on the idea of detail! I still love this piece and it reminds me of the early transition of working only in clay to a new evolution of The Magic Zoo. African greys are valued highly as a pet bird, being one of the best “talkers” among the parrot species. Mostly it’s recommended that your new parrot be a hand – reared baby rather than an adult bird. The babies are not only easier to handle, but they’re less costly than the adult Greys. African Greys enjoy a seed - based mix of sunflower, pine nuts, safflower and small cereal seeds. But to stay healthy, they also need to get their fruits and veggies! They enjoy green vegetables as well as corn on the cob and carrots. When the eggs are laid, it’s generally a clutch of three to four eggs, which are incubated for 28 to 30 days. When the chicks are 10 to 12 weeks old they generally emerge from the nest. African greys can live for over 70 years!
