Wearing a sterling silver marine animal pendant around your neck on an attractive chain is a great way to call attention to these beautiful animals. It just occurred to me how protecting one’s young in the ocean must be a daunting affair. Imagine a mother whale me with her young, surrounded by miles and miles of water and predators. I’ve never viewed it like that before, but it seems that even a mother as large as a whale might feel rather small and alone in such an environment. But baby whales, at least some of them, do grow to adulthood and I believe that some whale species are no longer in as much trouble as they were a few years ago. I’ve never lost my wonder and respect for the animal kingdom, including the one that flourishes beyond our everyday vision. I remember how amazed I was when I found out that coral actually consisted of a colony of animals (probably when I was eight years old or so). I can still sit and watch shows about the ocean’s inhabitants for hours on end. It’s probably a good thing we don’t have cable and the only time I watch TV at all is in a motel room when we’re traveling to or from a show! I have a little group of marine animal pendants now, but I’m sure to have some new ones coming the way of my web store before too long. I'm also working on my reptile pendants in sterling silver as well as the whole 925 pendant gift section. |
