Description: I wanted to create something that could be worn on a sterling chain and would be an attractive horse necklace for any lover of the horse. It’s a generic equine piece that would be nice for someone from cowgirl to suburban horse rider. Because it focuses on a symbol as opposed to an actual face of a horse, your own meaning can be transferred to it. I hope that makes sense! At one of my trade shows a veterinarian who was also a horsewoman asked me to design a hoof print design for the horse loving customer. I got out a Farrier’s magazine and poured over it to try and locate a good print to work from. For such a simple design, it took me a very long time. At least as long to design as some of the horse heads in this same section! Often times it seems like it’s the more difficult designs that are faster and the seemingly simple ones take me forever. I think that horses are such fascinating animals. I’ve been doing a little research and have been learning some basic facts that probably any horseman or horsewoman knows but is actually pretty new to me. I hope that this hoof print in sterling silver has special meaning for the horsewoman and she can wear it with pride! |
