Description: The Maltese was known before as a “Maltese terrier.” He is a beautiful little dog with a silky coat and an alert and happy personality. He is about 10inches high with a luxurious white coat that may have a little hint of lemon coloring just for zest. I love the way his dark eyes peer at you from the gorgeous coat-nice contrast! He loves exercise but I wonder how you make sure he gets it without undoing all those hours of work you have to spend on combing him! Maybe you have to have a little puppy treadmill for him to work out on! That just wouldn’t be the same as a joyful romp in the park, now would it? I can see how that could present a bit of a dilemma. I like the idea that this is a tough dog, belying his size and fancy looking coat. I’ve never known one well, but the next time an opportunity comes my way to strike up an acquaintance, I plan to take advantage of it. He seems a fascinating fellow! I do have a customer that has raised Maltese for many years, but prior to my research I kept mixing up this breed with another one. It’s too embarrassing to tell you which one that was, and besides, I’d never make that mistake again! And how about this sterling silver Maltese pendant for someone special?
