Description: Many women appreciate my work because I try to imbue my sterling silver dog pendant giftswith personality. My cocker spaniel pendant bears little resemblance to an item produced in an overseas factory. Not that there’s anything wrong with that- it’s just a different look and feel than the look and feel of the jewelry that I make. (See my cheery silver Corgi pendant for another example.) The English cocker spaniel is an excellent dog with a wonderful ability to flush out birds for his hunting partner. He definitely retains this ability but is more often seen in the show ring these days. I wonder if he dreams about the ancestral hunt and misses that kind of life. It could just be in his genes! This may be why some cocker spaniels are thought of as a bit on the naughty side. They just need something to do. By the 1600s there were quite a few types of gun dogs in western Europe, the cocker spaniel being one of them. The cocker and the Springer spaniel are the two spaniels that really made their mark on the hearts of people everywhere.
