Description: I’ve never owned a bulldog, but I put them in the “so ugly that they’re cute” category. I don’t mean to offend bulldog owners-I really do think they are charming!
The modern bulldog is not a ferocious dog. In fact, as regards to other dogs he goes by the “Paying them no heed is the better part of valor” philosophy. However, if he is provoked or if he perceives a threat to his family or himself, he will vigorously defend himself and can present a real show of aggression. But again, that’s only if he feels the situation really warrants it.
The ancestor of the bulldog seems to be an ancient breed known as the Asiatic mastiff. The creation of the bulldog, however, is totally attributed to the English, He is also known as the British bulldog. It’s possible he wasn’t just named for his stint as a baiter of bulls, but also for his own pugnacious facial expression.
The bulldog has an honorable history as a member of the armed forces. No mention is made as to what this little dog actually did, but there is one who was decorated with ribbons and even a Bronze Star. Definitely a brave little canine!
Wearing his image in a sterling silver pendant sounds like a great idea, one he would probably thank you for if he could. If you are looking for variety, I have a silver chihuahua pendant item and many more over at the home page for silver dog pendants. It is great to have lots of choices.
