Description: I ran into someone recently who did raccoon rescue and told me an interesting fact. She said that if raccoons are not kept in cages, they become quite docile and easy to live with. She said that putting them in cages is what makes them mean. (Granted, she was talking about raccoons raised from babies.) But I do believe she said she knew someone who actually slept with a rescued raccoon! It does make sense. I think I would get pretty mean if I were locked up in a cage. But then again, raccoons are not domestic animals, and I believe their raising should be left up to the experts.
