Description: Chinchillas have long back legs that look a little like the legs of a rabbit or hare (but much daintier). The chinchilla has only 3 or 4 toes, and normally has a big bushy tail. (With the possible exception of the high altitude version that has a smaller tail.) It’s hard to imagine that people would raise these precious little animals for their fur. How about starting a trend for city rat hair coats? Now there’s a species that could use a little endangerment. To me chinchillas fur looks like a living and furry version of sterling silver anyway. They just fit the idea of this precious metal perfectly. The other thing I like about the earrings is that the right facing chinchilla and the left facing chinchilla were made separately and have a slightly different look, one compared to the other. There’s just no way for hand crafted work to ever be exactly alike, and that’s actually what I like about it. So consider the prospect of owning or giving to someone else a pair of my sterling silver chinchilla earrings. How could you possibly go wrong? Unless they just didn’t like them. Impossible! The thought just doesn’t bear thinking about.
