| About Our Sterling Silver Dog Earrings |
| Dog earrings in sterling silver are a brilliant idea; they certainly are a big part of my collection of sterling silver earring designs. I don’t know who first thought of it, but I have taken full advantage of the concept with now over 35 breeds in my “line up”! As an artist, I find representing different breeds and making them recognizable while at the same time not being overly realistic can be a juggling act that is reminiscent of a bugs bunny cartoon! There are some breeders who love my pug earrings, for instance, and others who would consider them not realistic enough for their taste. I do work hard to capture my own impression of the canine in question, but realize there will be a certain number of “misses.” Ah, the vagaries of life as an entrepreneurial artist! All I can do is my best and that I insist on from my own work. I do improve with time. As a humorous aside, I have kept some of my dog jewelry from over 20 years ago, when Magic Zoo was in its toddler-hood. Although there is a certain amount of cringing that goes on when I look at these early pieces, there’s something charming there as well. There had to be some reason why I kept going!
