Sterling silver bug earrings-Is it not amazing that there even exists such an item for the adornment of the fairer sex’s ears? I think the idea is a little perplexing, but quite amusing as well. You see, I am a fan of the six legged ones. I have been fascinated with them my entire life, and this, I suspect is what led to me ultimately becoming an animal jewelry artist!
Laugh if you must, but the idea of sterling silver bug jewelry certainly wouldn’t have seemed odd to me at any phase of my life. If I could’ve figured out a way to make 925 earrings when I was a kid I certainly would’ve tried to do so! As it was, I had to content myself with enjoying their antics and feeding habits from behind the glass of a jar, the metal top drilled with holes so they would have air.
My sterling silver bug earrings, starting with the sterling silver butterfly earrings and progressing towards sterling silver dragonfly earrings only signify the respect I fell towards this widely diverse group of beasties. I’m quite sure I’ll be adding to the menagerie as the years go by. There is certainly enough inspiration out there to fill several lifetime’s worth of creating!
