Description: I find this pair of sterling silver bald eagle earrings to be one of my most delicate designs. It was beyond challenging, because the size of the bird was so tiny. Not only that, but I was really intent on creating a feeling of glory and power in something just a touch over an inch wide!
But to me it was quite worth it. There’s nothing like being proud of something you’ve worked hard to create. The bald eagle is an important symbol to us Americans, so I had an extra incentive to create something I hoped would be meaningful.
On the 20th of June in 1782 the bald eagle was adopted as the national emblem of the newly independent United States. The first version of the design was rather generic, but in 1902 it was obviously the bald eagle, not some other eagle.
I think someone could wear my eagle earrings anytime at all, but it could be an especially nice touch for a sophisticated 4th of July look. If you are a “gold jewelry person” you can order them in 14k gold as well.
Hurrah for the bald eagle. I hope my sterling silver bald eagle earrings manage to make it onto your ears for this coming political year!
