Description: This sitting monkey is a pretty clever looking fellow, don’t you think? Primates certainly live in diverse areas. Not just in jungles. The Japanese snow monkeys are a testament to that. There are diurnal monkeys and nocturnal ones. There are primates that live in trees and the ones who make the ground their main home territory. Of course the diet is pretty diverse as well. Monkeys in the new world are roughly divided into two groups. There are the marmosets and tamarins making up one of them and the capuchin-like monkeys on the other side of the ledger. The old world primates include the baboons and the macaques as well as the apes (both great apes and lesser apes). Evolutionarily speaking, the primates are pretty recent. Especially when you consider that there have been animals of various kinds on the planet since about 600 million years ago. The first primate showed up only 70 million years ago! Better late than never. And here is one representative of that venerable group. I hope my sterling silver sitting monkey charm finds a home on your bracelet. I don’t think you could go wrong wrapping up this sterling silver sitting monkey charm as a gift for the monkey lover in your circle. I have more wild animal designs, too, in my silver wildlife charm gifts, such as a tree-hugging koala charm in silver. |
