Description: There is one kind of rhino that may not get as much attention as the others, and that’s the Javan rhino. They, of course, live in Java, and are sometimes spotted as high as 8,580 feet. It seems like that would be hard on the heart of an animal that big, but they seem to be pretty hardy animals. Mostly these guys are found in deep forest. They eat a lot of young saplings, so their favorite habitat is new growth forest.
Rhino males in general seem to be tough guys when it comes to winning the girl. The black rhino charges and stops about 5 feet from his opponent, then they try to do each other bodily harm with their horns. Even though the white rhino is usually the more easy going of the two species, he may fight to the death. I wonder if the lady love considers all this belligerence romantic or stupid.
The gestation is pretty long, about 455 days for the black rhino and 547 days for the white. The actual birth is accomplished in only 15 minutes. Amazing! Reminds me of a friend of mine who had two children, each one in under an hour. Some gals have all the luck!
You may need a big sterling silver rhino charm. If you do, here it is.
Another great African animal design is the front view of a giraffe as a sterling silver charm. More will be found by visiting my silver wildlife charm designs and having a look about.
