| About Our Sterling Silver Wildlife Charms |
| You could
certainly fill up a charm bracelet just with these sterling silver wildlife
charms. A broad category, that is! It includes everything from elephants to
armadillos. Sometimes it is just a pure arbitrary whether a particular animal
jewelry design ended up under wildlife jewelry or some other category in my
store. To be safe, see them all from the silver
charms page. I just had an interesting thought. All animals were originally “wild life.” Even that pussycat sitting on your lap could (were he or she not neutered) produce babies that might well revert to a feral state if they were born in the woods. And pigs easily turn wild within a generation or so if they escape from the farm. The idea of domestication of animals is an interesting one. Who would have thought animals like those in sterling silver avian charms would be sitting on someone's shoulder as a pet bird? And then there are animals that are undomesticatable. (Yes, I did make up that word.) Can you imagine a domesticated bear? How about domesticating a heron? Laughable! I’d like to see someone trying to tame a komodo dragon, a silver back gorilla, or ride a rhinoceros! I believe we can be friends with and help most every animal without domesticating it, as most sane people would agree. Most animals on the planet are still essentially wild, which makes me quite happy. I wish I could know everything about all of them, and make a sterling silver wildlife charm to honor all their lives! |
