Turtle CharmOur Price: $27.00
Summary:
This turtle charm in sterling silver is one of those designs
that works very well as a charm. Maybe it’s the round body shape, maybe it’s
the feel of the piece-it just fits well with other charms on a nice sterling
charm bracelet.

Description:
In the USA, the term tortoise is generally used just to describe land living members of this family. In Britain, some of the watery inhabitants of the family are also called tortoises. There are about 40 species of tortoises, if you’re just referring to the land living type. Our local gopher tortoise fits into that category; we find them often on hikes.
Mostly I’ll be using the terms interchangeably, but not to confuse you. It’s just that I’m an American, and afraid that the language seems to be a bit messy at times, calling one thing another and so forth.
Turtles have devised a wonderful way of keeping safe from predators. Of course not all are fooled by their ability to pull in their head and limbs for protection, least of all man. But it certainly offers some protection for these reptiles. One thing the turtles do remain quite vulnerable to are forest fires and other natural disasters. They just cant move too fast.
A sterling silver turtle charm certainly seems an appropriate charm to me, sweet and small enough to fit well on any charm bracelet.
An amphibian cousin, my smooth looking silver frog charm is available along with some sterling silver lizard charms.
