Description: Of all my current horse jewelry designs, this one of the Quarter Horse charm is one of my favorites. It’s realistic enough to go on the charm bracelet of a woman, and fanciful enough to adorn the bracelet of a young girl. Apparently there is a very old line of Quarter Horses that started with the Thoroughbred horse named Janus, brought to North America in 1752. He and his son of the same name founded an important line of Quarter Horses. You see? How many people in this country can trace their ancestry back even to the days of the Civil War? It shows the importance of the horse in history. By the middle of the 19th century long distance racing was more important than the quarter mile races the Quarter Horse excelled at, so he lost favor as a racing horse. All was not lost, however, and the talents he possessed as a ranch horse became legion. There’s a possibility this can be traced to his Spanish ancestry, but the Quarter Horse is definitely good with the cattle. Do you have a charm bracelet with equine designs?
