Description: I always enjoy the simple designs, and this particular one has a feeling that is simple and graceful at the same time. It’s my interpretation of the print of a horse, based on a bit of study. I just read something interesting about soaking a horse’s hooves in dry and very hot climates so the hoof doesn’t dehydrate. There are so many things to know about the care of the horse- I am really impressed how much an equestrian needs to know. I would imagine that if you grew up around horses that much of this would be in your blood, but for an outsider such as myself it’s rather overwhelming. Continuing on that same train of thought, it seems that if you do live in a hot dry area the hooves have to be soaked on a regular basis, otherwise doing it irregularly can be even worse. Apparently going from a lot of moisture to periods of time when there is too much dry heat can be even more damaging. A recipe is given in one of my reference books involving fish oil, pine tar and some other things. Well, as I’ve admitted elsewhere, I’m not an equestrian, at least not yet! But I do find this information fascinating and it is humbling to see how much care a horse does take when properly handled If you are looking for something a bit different in the charm area, this sterling silver hoof print charm could be just the thing!
