Goat CharmOur Price: $29.00 Summary:
It takes a special person to wear a sterling silver goat charm! I designed this farm animal jewelry for just such a person. |

Description: It’s possible that goats were one of the very earliest domesticated animals. They seem to derived from a wild goat from Asia, where it lives on dry and rocky land. There are also some wild goats on Mediterranean islands. The first tamed goats appeared in Iran (or rather, the ancient version of Iran) about 10,000 years ago!) I think those ancient people were pretty smart. To me, cow’s cheese and milk doesn’t hold a candle to the goat version. I would imagine another reason for their early popularity is the fact that they can live and survive in environments which are way too harsh for other farm animals. Steep barren places are suitable for goats because they can eat practically anything that grows. Goats can eat twigs off trees and even peel the bark from trees. In fact, the main reason areas have been denuded of practically all plant life is because they’ve been overgrazed by goats. I don’t really think they can eat tin cans like in the old cartoons from the 1920s, but they weren’t that far off the beam.I would imagine modern farmers aren’t as dependent on goats foraging on their own. Otherwise there’d be no countryside left to graze them on! Place this innocent looking sterling silver goat charm on your charm bracelet for something pretty darn unique! A woolly silver sheep charm would make a good mate along with anything you might find at the silver farm animal charms home page. |
