Description: I like chickens and find them very humorous! I think charm bracelets are a great way to display the animals that you find particularly appealing, from chickens to any other farm animal you may find appealing. Chickens and the jungle fowl native to Asia are quite possibly one and the same bird. Some scientists think maybe other wild birds were involved in the creation of the domestic chicken, but that was certainly quite a while ago. (Possibly as early s 3200 BC!) According to what can be determined by pottery and other ancient art work, chickens were used more ceremonially and for cockfighting than as a food source. It was later on that these fowl were valued for their eggs and meat. In Athens around the 5th century BC most people kept hens for their eggs. I wonder how they ate them? Did they scramble their eggs? Poach them? We may never know! It wasn’t until the 1800s that chickens were killed for their flesh. It still seems wasteful to me when you can have an egg factory that goes on and on! To each his own, I suppose. My chicken charm is one of many silver farm animal charm gifts you might get a kick out of owning! An especially good combination would be adding a delightful little silver pig charm. |
