Description: Every morning I get the chance to give a very sweet lady basset hound a little scratch on the head which she really enjoys. Her owner is a fellow morning walker so we often see him on our route to the bay. The other day she really got excited and sang a few wonderful basset notes when I pet her. What a wonderful sound! She is a really beautiful dog and is in good shape from all the exercise she gets. I think she’s lucky to be so sell cared for. The basset has some bloodhound ancestry, which I can believe, especially after hearing that bay she honored me with a few days ago. The ears are very long and the forehead is wrinkled in a most charming way. The word basset is from the French word bas, which means low and of course is very applicable to the dog’s height. This hound is a good hunter, especially of hares and birds in France. In other countries it’s appreciated more just for its wonderful appearance and is more of a house pet than anything else. But I bet it would love to go hunting once and a while. Charms are a lot of fun to collect. How's about a sweet corgi silver charm? Have a look through the sterling silver dog breed charms but I do bet a basset hound lover would enjoy this one! |
