Description: However, since I’ve at least given it the name of a short haired cat, I may as well talk a bit about this breed! My silver charm probably resembles the American shorthair more closely than the British as it has a little bit leaner look. To be honest, my real intention was just to design a pretty, delicate cat. Not a fluffy cat. Some knowledgeable people feel that the American shorthair may be the original domesticated cat. It is a true hunter, and has shared many a barn with horses and goats, keeping the rodent population under control. This cat is a feline athlete, able to pounce and make a kill with ease. The short haired cat comes in many varieties. The tabby is probably the most common in all its color variations. Our family seemed to gravitate toward the mackerel tabby and always got a kick out of the name. The mackerel tabby has the tabby stripes that form narrow lines running from the spine down around the ribs, and the classic tabby has a more marbled look to its markings. Well, this sterling silver short haired cat charm is not really meant to be a tabby either, but I just got to talking about them because they’re one of my favorite short haired cats. I have included what I call a fat cat silver charm in my little group of sterling silver cat charms.
