Description: The fastening is called the lobster claw. It’s a much better clasp than the little round spring ring type that all chains used to have. This clasp is nice and thick without being too thick. You can actually get your fingers around it and for most women they can fasten it themselves without any help. Sometimes it takes a time or two to get the hang of it, but even in my booth I’ve noticed that when women try on one of my necklaces they can do it right away without any assistance from me. The chain itself is .925 sterling, which is the same thing as sterling silver. It is a round in diameter chain, which is why they call it a snake chain, I suppose.(Even though actual snakes are not really round, are they? They are more flattened on the bottom as far as I know.) I think this style of chain is rather classy looking. They have a nice sparkle and can be easily polished by running a polishing cloth lightly down the length of the chain to clean them. You can also polish them with tooth paste, oddly enough!
