I think there’s a lot of beauty in the simpler things in life. I grew up with an artist for a mom, absorbing beauty through her viewpoint for 18 unusual years. She was headstrong, with opinions about art and most every other thing that were not flexible, but many times right on the money. It was a bit of a challenge to find my own artistic wings. I started out as a folk singer, but when I changed my direction it took a number of years to find my own style in a way that pleased me.
These pewter designs are an example of the insouciance that I can apply to what I now do for a living. I have found my artistic wings, actually quite a few years ago now. I look at my designs, even something as simple as these little cat studs and know without a doubt that my work is like a snowflake. Unlike another. This makes me happy! I believe anyone who is working happily and easily in their own art form feels the same way about their products.
