Description: I’ve talked to gardeners that have just about had enough from these little diggers. But I myself would be thrilled beyond measure to have one of these guys rooting around in my yard. Then again, I don’t have any carefully attended azaleas to worry about. Or tomato plants, or whatever it is that they happily uproot. One of my favorite Animal Planet episodes had Jeff Corwin chasing a little armadillo across an open space to the accompaniment of some lively music. I really enjoyed that. Most remarkably, Jeff actually did run it down! I met a vet one time who told me when her husband caught an armadillo on their property one time it became so overcome with anxiety that it started to drool. That’s a rather weird reaction, but what do you expect from such an odd creature? This armadillo pin isn’t going anywhere, unless you decide to move it from your coat to a jacket. But he does have a nose to the ground and the look of the serious bug hunter. Wear my armadillo pin by itself, or right along with the pewter earrings to match.
