Description: In the dawn of The Magic Zoo, every item was painstakingly made by hand. The work was rewarding but rather endless as well! I have discovered the Joys of Casting, and not a moment too soon Times do change, and I started working to make my jewelry in a cast form. It was only a matter of time before I had a line of jewelry in the pewter golden design. This particular dog jewelry necklace design is the only one which I’ve not done in a painted version. It just seems to work best in the pewter. But my designs are constantly evolving, and I would hope that is not the final word. (Actually I did try the pewter golden retriever necklace in a painted version but for several reasons it just didn’t work out.) Notice all the detail in the design here. A major reason why you can see the detail so clearly is through a process known as “antiquing” the metal. It gives an extra sharpness to all the etched in detail, and really makes the piece stand out well. This is not a particularly large golden retriever necklace, but I think it is just about the right size for most people. Really, the only really large dog necklaces I make are meant to be pins as well. This pewter golden retriever necklace is meant to be a pendant, not a pin. |
