At last, some really inexpensive pewter necklaces that are fun for all women, young ones, senior ones and ones that fall in between. (As I wrote that I realized with a slight shock that I myself am just a few years from that “senior” designation!) Hard to believe, indeed! These are simple, attractive designs that depend more on the personality of the little critter than any kind of bling or flash. The color is somewhat silvery, but with less of a reflective surface. I think of pewter jewelry as being rather warm in the over all look. I use two different treatments when I create my pewter jewelry. Some of it has an antique finish, which brings out the detail of the design. You can see this finish in the fat cat pewter necklace, for instance. The other finish is just a simple shiny finish as in the playful cat pewter necklace. I decide which finish to utilize depending on whether the design has a lot of detail etched into it or not. Sometimes the design, when simple, benefits more from a simple shiny finish. I like both looks, and imagine I’ll have more of each type in the future. These pewter necklaces may be simple, but they still reflect my intention to imbue the designs with careful handwork. I don’t make any pewter jewelry that I wouldn’t wear proudly myself!
