Description: Pewter is an interesting metal. It captures the detail of the design quite well and has a slightly duller finish than sterling silver. If you prefer sterling silver, I do have several monkey designs available in it. One benefit of doing art shows is that you often end up in interesting environments. For a few years the National Zoo in Washington, D.C. had a gathering of artists and craftsmen with animal themed work who set up their wares in the zoo on the sidewalks near the animals. A percentage of the shopping receipts from the zoo guests and patrons benefited the zoo. Ed and I did this several years and being there very early in the morning we got to hear the monkeys waking up and letting you know what it was all about in a variety of voices. Far from the Amazon or African jungles you got a bit of a feel for how the forest comes to life each day. The birds helped out as well, but the monkeys really gave you the feel of being in another place. Anyways, I figured that sometimes you may be looking for a gift that is not too costly, and this pewter monkey lapel pin and or tie tack should certainly fit the bill. |
