Wildlife jewelry has been the backbone of the Magic Zoo for a long time. Sure I make a lot of domestic animal jewelry, but I love designing wildlife because of the endless variety of animals to draw inspiration from. For instance, I think lemurs are such wonderful creatures. But I’ve not yet found the time to make something with them as a model. I could go on and on! I try to convince my husband that my time would be better spent designing more jewelry than sweeping more rugs or cooking more dinners, but I haven’t convinced him we should hire a house keeper or a cook  yet! (It’s not really like I do that much housework…) And I honestly like to cook, so I’m not sure why I’m complaining.

And so I add to my selection of animal jewelry bit by bit. Overall I’m a fairly prolific jewelry artist, but I don’t think there’s enough time in a day, week or year to create everything I’d like to make.

Every time I do make a new wildlife jewelry piece, whether it’s elephant jewelry or a new armadillo design, I like to think about how many versions I can make of that item. A pair of wildlife earrings for sure- and definitely a pendant to match. Then of course I would need a wildlife charm and if it works out, a pin pendant as well. Some jewelry I can do all of the above, some have to live without the pin pendant due to size constraints in the piece.

I shall continue the “hunt” for the most asked for wildlife jewelry and do everything I can to capture new designs!
