I love reptiles, and the pewter reptile lapel pins and tie tacks were a natural evolution in the Magic Zoo. Why not wear a lapel pin of a reptile? I have. In fact, this is one of my favorite of all the pewter tie tack designs I’ve made. Sometimes I fantasize about new versions of it, and know that it will happen someday, all I have to do is be patient and get the other ten zillion projects I have under control first. I am off to a good start, however, with the cute pewter small mammal lapel pins.
For one thing, I think I need an iguana in color. Yes, I can envision it now, a beautiful green iguana painted in the epoxy enamel colors. It isn’t just a pipe dream, you wait and see! And how about a snake? Just last night I was looking through some of my mother’s jewelry I inherited when she passed away two years ago. There was a beautiful sterling silver snake that I don’t believe I ever saw her wear, but I’m sure she did. My mom was also an animal lover to a fault.
Reptiles are quite, as they said in the 1960s and as I confess I still say, “cool”. I could watch the antics of a snake or turtle for hours. That is if I ever had hours for such luxuries.
