Description: The sheltie whose other name is the Shetland Sheepdog is indeed from the Shetland Islands and grew up surrounded by puffins, orca whales, minature horses and cows and, of course sheep. This dog when properly trained can put the flocks through their paces all by himself with hardly a need for a human to open a gate. The ones I have known have been clever dogs and full of playful energy, quite active in a calm rather than nervous way.
Their beautiful coat is another feature I like about this dog and I am always glad to do a custom piece of jewelry from a color photo of your special Sheltie as they seem to warrant such special attention. Pewter is a bit heavier than sterling silver and isn’t quite as sparkly. If you’re looking for a sheltie in something other than pewter, you might want to check in my online store. I do make several sheltie designs in sterling silver and 14k gold. However, if you need an inexpensive gift for a co-worker or friend, this pewter sheltie lapel pin might be a good choice.
