Description: I use to see these dogs only on the sides of passenger buses on the highways, but now I meet Greyhounds almost everywhere I go in Florida as they race here. I’ve seen a list of 14 greyhound racing tracks and there may be others. So, there are now several groups that rescue the dogs whose racing days are past and find homes for them. I expected Greyhounds to be nervous and jittery and ready to dash off on a run at any moment and was surprised to find that they are basically couch potatoes around the house.
The greyhound history goes back to ancient Egypt and has been used as an artistic motif in greyhound jewelry, statues, pottery and architecture down through the years. I enjoy adding my little bit to its portrayal.
Pewter has its own unique properties- it’s heavier than sterling silver, not as shiny and has more little imperfections if you look closely. But those characteristics also make each pewter lapel pin unique. For a sterling silver or 14k gold greyhound design, you can explore those sections of my store.
But if you are looking for a gift that’s not costly and still has a unique personality, this
Pewter greyhound lapel pin would be a very satisfactory choice!
