I know several of these dogs from my morning walking trail adventures and we always stop to say hello. There is one Harlequin that I particularly enjoy and admire. I have created many custom designs of this breed usually from photos people send me of their Great Dane. A surprising number of owners have more than one dog- sometimes what I would call a whole pack. A German who now lives here in Florida tells me these dogs used to be the standard dog in the castles of Germany and they certainly do fit the scale of a castle and its grounds. I’m sure if I got over to Europe and looked around a bit I would find places where authentic castles, horses, carriages and these Great Danes could be seen just as they were many years ago. (Possibly I could find some version of this at a magical place in nearby Orlando but I think I will hold out for the real thing.)

I realize that once in a while you just need a not too expensive gift for some reason. Well, I think this is a good looking pewter Great Dane lapel pin and it’d be a fine choice for a Dane lover gift!
