My number two favorite short haired cat might be the classic tabby. (I keep the mackerel tabby is first place since we had such a wonderful one in our home when our kids were growing up.) To me they have a very beautiful pattern of markings that reminds me more of a jungle cat than anything else. We have prime stalking territory here and since foliage and vines grow thick and wild with a moments neglect (the story of my gardening life) the cats who visit me get lots of territory to play “jungle cat”.
