Sometimes parrot voices can be close to overwhelming. Once I was in a shop that specialized in provided large birds to people who wanted a companion bird. These were hand fed, very well cared for birds and I was enjoying the variety. There were moluccan, umbrella and sulfur crested cockatoos. She had blue and gold, scarlet, hyacinth and other macaws. African grey, Amazon and eclectus parrots.  You get the idea. A storm was coming and I guess when the barometer hit a certain spot every bird in the store began to talk with its loudest voice! I had never heard anything like it in my life. The shop owner said “that’s just what they do every time”. I don’t know if that is behavior from the wild or if that’s something they cooked up for that shop only but it was impressive.

I know that many of my customers enjoy pewter and collect my designs in this interesting metal so I needed to work in some parrot jewelry.
