If you’ve never worn pewter jewelry before, I should tell you that it is a bit heavier than sterling silver and does not appear as shiny. But pewter does have its own appeal and many of my customers collect these pewter lapel pins so they can wear a different one every day.

Parrots seem to be part of the tropical party motif. They show up on billboards around town especially anything to do with pirates and rum. Magic Zoo attended a few “Meeting of the Minds” events in years past to sell bird jewelry to revelers. (This was (is?) an annual gathering of Jimmy Buffet’s fan clubs from all around the country- they raised money for charities but also had a grand time themselves). I think we did a couple of these and there was always talk of Jimmy coming to play. Finally, one year in Key West he and his band did show up and played for the Parrot Head party and fulfilled the dream. 

So, do you need an inexpensive gift? Or maybe you need several of these to give to employees who have done an especially good job for an acknowledgement. Whatever you may need it for, my pewter parrot head lapel pin is an inexpensive but still tasteful piece of jewelry.
