Sometimes a bird lover just needs a pewter bird lapel pin tie tack sort of thing to wear on the collar. It must be quite an adventure to have birds in your life, especially parrots and macaws, who are, I understand, about as demanding of your time as a toddler. I’ve spoken to bird breeders who tell me that they hand feed their baby birds, and if I’m remembering correctly, they have to do it every two hours when they’re newly hatched, just like a newborn! I can hardly imagine how much work and dedication it takes to hand rear parrots and macaws. But I understand that a hand reared bird is the only kind you’d want to have as a pet.
