I have the painted version of this dog, but of course, there are some greyhounds that are just about this color in real life. That’s what I mean about a happy accident. I didn’t really intend to have a pewter greyhound, unpainted-it just came my way!

I think greyhounds are lovely dogs, almost ethereal in their grace and beauty. I can’t say that I have completely captured that aspect of them in my pewter jewelry, but I have certainly worked at it.

One of these days I’ll make a greyhound pin, running in that wonderful long – legged stride that they’re famous for. I’d love that, and I imagine a few of my customers wouldn’t mind it either.

Since I live in Florida, I stay somewhat tuned into the condition of the greyhounds used for racing in this state. Like most things, I believe greyhound racing is not a black and white issue. I would imagine there are several shades of grey, with some breeders and trainers truly loving and appreciating their dogs for their talent in racing.

And of course, there is the “benefit” of loving families being able to share their homes with these magnificent dogs once their racing days are behind them.

I’m quite sure that the greyhound rescue people are the ones who wear my greyhound jewelry, and I hope if you are one of them that you enjoy my pewter greyhound earrings.
