Pugs have been climbing the AKC breed popularity ladder toward the top ten coming in 12th and 13th in recent years. That seems pretty impressive considering the number of types of dogs out there. He is classified as a Toy dog which I am sure irritates him to no end. These dogs are more like a Great Dane with a tiny body and are known to face down much larger dogs when defending their home territory. Children and pugs get along very well. Another plus for this breed.

I can imagine the pug hanging out with Jedi Knights like, say Yoda or other super hero types. (The pug did get to play an alien in “Men in Black” but I believe that film played to mixed reviews amongst pug lovers.) Somehow, it seems right that if you were cruising along in a space craft traveling faster than the speed of light, you would want one cat and one pug to accompany you.
